Got some RLP-6 today. At the local b&m, they call it Navajo. I like it. It is similar to Captain Black White, but much smoother. To me it tasted more buttery and less bitter than CB. For an aromatic, I liked it. I cut some 50/50 with Carter Hall, Now that was a good smoke! The Prince would work as well. RLP-6 left the pipe a little moist at bottom but not too bad. Sip it slow, so it will stay cool. Good stuff. Smells great!

RLP-6 is my standard. I recently moved from Houston to Tulsa and I can't find it here. Ted's Pipe Shop in Tulsa is the best, and they have their version, but it's much harsher, biting the tongue at the first puff.

I am having it sent to me from The Smoke Ring in Houston, but Texas recently imposed an additional 50% tax on pipe tobacco, so it is now outrageously expensive.

Can anyone tell me where else I can get Lane RLP-6?

A nice, dry burning aromatic that is faintly reminiscent of Captain Black White but of much higher quality. The rough cut of the tobaccos in this blend assist in it's slow burning. An every day smoke for me and it always satisfies.

I happen to like this blend, though not on a daily basis. When I want a decent aromatic tobacco, with a noticable sweetness, this one does the trick. Something a bit less sweet but similar in quality is the MV-1000. Try the RLP-6. It's even better in a Cobb...

I think RLP-6 is a very pleasant utilitarian blend for anytime use that is frequently disrespected and scorned by "sophisticated" forum members. It can be smoked anytime and is not obnoxious in any way.....it doesn't burn the tongue and tastes pleasant. This blend deserves a place in the "everyday smokers hall of fame."
